New Drama Club
Creation Theatre Company are proud to announce an after school Drama Club taking place every Thursday starting from 17th January 2008 in the Sandhills School Hall between 15.00 and 16.15.
- Open to all children between 7 and 11 years.
- Introductory price of £4.50 per session for the first 10 sessions.
- All 10 sessions are to be paid in advance.
- Subject to availability, terms and conditions
Christmas Market Success 2007
Our annual Christmas market was held on Saturday 1st December. Thanks to the fantastic support both with contributions to stalls and with prizes for the raffles, tombola, etc. it was a great success. A staggering £2150 profit was raised for the PTA which will be used to provide equipment and resources for the children in the school.
Thank you to all the volunteers who worked on stalls or helped in any way to make the Christmas Market a success. Thanks also to the many companies and organisations who donated prizes for the Christmas Market.
Wind Turbine Update
Groundwork was carried out in the weeks before Christmas for the wind turbine installation. The actual turbine should be installed in the week beginning the 29th January. We hope to organise an “official” opening before the February break.
Tree Planting Day
On Thursday 28th November around 130 children planted trees in the wild area at the northern end of the school site. They planted:
- 20 Sycamore Trees
- 10 Sweet Chestnut Trees
- 30 Common White Birch Trees
- 20 Ash Trees
- 10 Common Walnut Trees
- 20 English Oak Trees
- 20 Mountain Ash Trees
- 10 Small Leaved Lime Trees
- 10 Crab Apple Trees
The children wrote their names in permanent marker on the plastic tree guards.
